ABOUT US

With more than 20 years of courtroom experience, Joseph Piacun has earned a reputation as a dedicated advocate for clients from every walk of life – from Fortune 500 companies to hardworking individuals seeking justice.

Mr. Piacun’s practice spans a wide range of personal injury and commercial litigation, including maritime and Jones Act claims, medical malpractice, nursing home abuse, insurance and property damage disputes, automobile and trucking accidents, and premises liability cases. No matter the issue, he brings the same level of preparation, precision, and persistence to every client he represents.

A lifelong resident of the New Orleans area and the son of an immigrant oyster fisherman, Mr. Piacun learned early the value of hard work and integrity — lessons that continue to shape his approach to the law. He is deeply committed to ensuring that every client, regardless of background or circumstance, has access to skilled, results-driven legal representation. Whether through strategic negotiation or taking a case to trial, Mr. Piacun’s goal is always the same: to achieve the best possible outcome.

Mr. Piacun earned his B.A. in Economics from Louisiana State University and his J.D. from Loyola University School of Law, where he served on the Loyola Law Review. Over the years, he has been invited to speak at numerous conferences and professional association events, sharing his insight and experience with peers across the legal community.

He has served as President of the Academy of New Orleans Trial Lawyers, as a board member of the Louisiana Association for Justice, and on the Young Lawyers Section of the New Orleans Bar Association. Deeply proud of his heritage, Mr. Piacun is the current President of the Croatian Benevolent Association and a former Vice President and board member of the Croatian American Society.

Mr. Piacun is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts, as well as the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal.
